Scott,

Interchanging the AUX RF and the DC cnnectors would not harm the K2 base because the AUX RF connector has a protective series capacitor. What is likely to happen is that you vaporized the trace for the 12VDC in the KPA100 leading to the red wire of the KPA100 12 volt output to the base K2 (that red wire would have been connected to ground when it was plugged into the AUX RF header).

Remove all power from the KPA100 and check continuity from the red side of the APP connector to the junction of the red wire soldered to the KPA100 board - if you are fortunate, you will have continuity there (if not, find the burned KPA100 PC trace and repair it with wire). If you have continuity to the junction of the red wire and the KPA100 board, then the red wire or the connector crimp pin is the problem - replace the wire and crimp pin and you should be back in business.

Hello
I had to replace diodes d16 and d17 on my K2 100 watt amp.
When putting it back together I was distracted, and reversed
the leads on P6 aux rf and P3 aux 12 volt leads.
I've been told that bad things happen when you do that. So the
rig will not power up with the amp installed. but with it unstalled the K2 seems to work ok. What do you suppose I destroyed? I'm going to refrain from ever opening the case
on any radio.
Thanks
