I've reached page 78 (40 Meter Transmitter Alignment). All previous tests and
alignments were conducted successfully.
When turning on the unit, voltage shows about 13.6v and current shows about
240mA.
I was able to get a nice peaking on L1 and L2.
The testing at 5.0 watts went fine, with voltage dropping to about 12.8v and
current at about 1.7amps (just slightly higher than that shown in the manual).
However, at 10 watts, the voltage was about 13.5 and the current about 2.2 amps
-- at first. After about a second a hum started building up in the earphones
and ss the hum built up, both the voltage and current dropped steadily (but not
instantly) until the K2 reset itself back to receive mode.
My power supply is an MFJ-4110, which claims to be 2800mA at 14v DC output.
Any thoughts?
