Yesterday I bought a 'Flight Case' from Maplin here in the UK - it is p/n N70AP. I haven't yet cut the foam to fit but even without the foam in place the K3 barely moves around as it is gripped lightly between the foam in the lid and the bottom of the case which is covered in a thin layer of high density foam. It's slightly larger than the K3 footprint but means I should also be able to fit in my Microham CW Keyer and Bencher paddle.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality; seems strong enough, is lockable and is well padded inside even without the foam block. Best bit is the price - £14.99 though apparently this is 50% off til Xmas eve. If the pound drops any further it may even make sense for US (and EU..) users to buy direct from over here! 73, Stewart Rolfe, GW0ETF (www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=36796&TabID=1&C=SO&U=strat15&doy=search) Jeff Maass wrote: > > > I'm looking for recommendations for a small padded case for a K3, which > could in turn be > placed into checked luggage.
