Dave,
Actually it may. After scrutinizing the amp 1.5 years ago at Dayton, I felt
the amp was worth buying when available.
 - The conservative rating.
 - Covered 160-6M
 - Instant ON
 - Somewhat lightweight due to the switching supply.
 - Hopefully remote head like the 2000A so I could mount it up near the
ceiling in my basement alongside the 2000A.

Many of us bought the K3 site-unseen based on Elecraft's reputation with the
K1 and K2. That turned out to be a very good decision. Some of us feel the
same about the amp, if/when available.

I am happy with my 2000A. It has given me very good service. And Acom
support has been first rate. I have a few spare sets of tubes so expect no
major issues. The couple of problems I did have with the amp were taken care
of quickly with excellent support from Acom. It is like Elecraft support. I
don't expect to be selling the 2000A in the near future, even if Elecraft
comes out with their amp.

And I just feel it is time for a well built solid-state amp.
But I am not holding my breath for Santa to put a KPA-1500 under the tree,
at least this year.

And besides Eric and Wayne are too young to take sleep breaks :-)

Merry Christmas everyone

N2TK, Tony

I think that Wayne, Eric and company need a break after the K3 settles down.
There are numerous good amplifier choices out there. I wonder if some think
that with the Elecraft name on their amplifier it will make the same
differences that the K3 does when compared to other transceivers?

73 es Merry Christmas,
Dave N8AG
