Glenn,
That is opposite of the usual headphone jack failure. Normally one has
headphone audio, but no speaker audio.
However, the switch in the headphone jack can fail in either position,
so I am not surprised to hear your situation (it is just not the most
common one).
Yes, I would judge that a headphone jack replacement is in order.
