Ron,

You are correct that the T/R switch is bypassed when the KPA100 is set off in the menu.

If I recall your prior post, it behaved correctly with the cable removed from your KIO2 adapter. Leave the KIO2 plugged in and the base K2 with its top cover off. Then when it misbehaves, check the voltage on the 8R voltage rail - easily accessible at Control Board Q2 collector. The normal voltage during receive is 7.5 to 8 volts, and if it is substantially lower, the K2 will not receive well.

That is the one signal that is carried to the KPA100 from the base K2 that could reduce receive signal levels.
