Got the sub installed yesterday. I found a strong birdie on 10.115 which was all but eradicated by repositioning the TMP.
With no antenna attached I seem to have more noise on the sub than from the main board. When I am using the CW mode and using the 2.8 > 1.0 > .250 filters, the background noise becomes almost absent when I narrow the signal to 50Hz. With the sub it sounds much brighter (I've never adjusted the Rx EQ on either the main or sub) and when the filter is narrowed to 50Hz I can hear a noticeable hiss that is not present at 50Hz on the main receiver. When using just the one antenna (don't have a separate Rx antenna where I am at this moment) the CW signals marvellously pop out of the silence with the narrow filter as on the main board. They seem to be as loud on the sub but there is a brighter hiss that accompanies all the filters from 2.8 to the .250 & DSP down to 50Hz. Any suggestions? Thank ye, thank ye, Gary KA1J _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Subscriber Info (Addr.
