John, The most obvious is to begin looking critically at your soldering. Things that worked the last time it was tried and now do not work usually add up to a bad or intermittent connection. Check the front panel board over carefully, and examine pin 1 of each IC, the round solder pad at the pin 1 location is often skipped and later found unsoldered.
