Sorry for the rambling email earlier. Your .procmailrc filter may be overheating already.
Uh, I too would like to chime in and add my opinion that a service manual at a reasonable cost even, would be be valuable shack tool. I find myself in the situation I thought I wouldn't be in for a while -- repairing my K3 or at least debugging the hardware and although I'd have 110% confidence in Gary and the rest of the K3 guru's in Aptos, the ship-down/ship-back anxiety wouldn't be worth it _if_ I could trouble shoot the problem partially (or even fully) myself. I've never met a SMD that I wasn't afraid of replacing; diving in the deep end of the pool doesn't bother me in the slightest. I just need data/information about the thing I'm tinkering with. The schematics help, but some overlay information about the device would complete the picture. Something along the lines of the K2 assembly manual would be a good start. The K2 assembly manual pointed the way at each stage and gave testpoint data to expect. That's all I'm really asking for, in the context of the K3 and the options for the K3. If any amount of effort is required to assemble the Service Manual, then maybe the request can fall back behind other pressing issues, obviously. But now that the production run is keeping up with the demand (it seems) and the corner is nearly turned on getting major functionality through beta testing a Service Manual may be bubbling up the list, I hope.
