/* COY OFF */ The connector was put there in 2004. Its primary purpose is factory programing of the MCU in the K3. From the beginning of the K3 project, we've considered the possibility of attaching a small keyboard to that connector for RTTY/PSK/CW Tx operation. Costs of a custom keyboard for the quantities we'd need are too high. Suitably small and rugged OEM keyboards that could easily be made compatible have proven very difficult to locate. The then-common "PS/2" compatible keyboards have become scarcer. The ubiquitous interface is now USB. /* COY ON */ There are other investigations afoot. 73, Lyle KK7P ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
