Good suggestion. An easy cure is to put a small drop of liquid detergent (common dish soap) on your finger and rub it over the plastic cover on the meter face.
Some say to use a dryer softener/de-clinger cloth, but I like the liquid because it's non-abrasive (and cleans my meter!).
