Good suggestion. An easy cure is to put a small drop of liquid detergent
(common dish soap) on your finger and rub it over the plastic cover on the
meter face. 

 

Some say to use a dryer softener/de-clinger cloth, but I like the liquid
because it's non-abrasive (and cleans my meter!).

If the meter isn't being fed something... (big if).. maybe it is static
buildup on the meter face?
The plastic meters do that when it gets dry like it is here.
