I've just done the ALC mod this afternoon, don't bother trying to use SMD resistors, the wire ended ones are easy to fit. For the benefit of an earlier question, the three resistors do join/connect to pin 12. It's also worth adding the link across L1 at the same time and to do the rest of the rear panel RF immunity modification.
73 Dave, G4AON K3/100 #80 ------------ So I wasn't going to do this one cause I pretty much didn't plan on using it this way but since new K3's are being built this way I've decided that its one that I need to get done to my rig. I'm wondering if using SMT resistors rather than through hole parts is possible? I'm sure its fine for the 2.2K pull ups but for the 1% parts I'm not so certain. Also I have the 100K's in 1% and I have the 137K's in 1% but the 69.8 I don't have... I have access to a 5% 68.1K.... Looks like I have 1% 68.1K's in the stock room too but I'd have to go find those...
