It's pretty normal for me to make keyer speed adjustments while I'm sending to match my sending speed to the other guy's. What I'm finding is that while my right hand is sending dits and dahs my left hand loses some of its fine motor skill dexterity. So although my intention was to go from 24 to 22, I find that I actually changed from 24 to 20. This is followed by some bad characters and a further back and forth speed correction.
It seems as though one increment of the encoder results in a 1 WPM change in speed. I propose that each WPM change require 2 or 3 encoder increments. Or possibly have it as a CONFIG option. (I must agree, however, that the K3 adjustment is vastly improved over my FT1000D which had a skinny knob that was extremely touchy). 73, Mike K2MK ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
