I find building the k2 from scratch VERY much fun, and would not want to miss out on it. It really is an amazing radio, the whole package. I enjoy building them so much I built two so far, plus a K1.
It does not have all the features some operators might want, but you build it, its small, and it works fantastic. The reward you get from operating something you built from a pile of parts is priceless. I don't really desire a K3 (yet).
