Frank,

If the frequency on the main receiver is lower than that of the sub, you 
may be greeted by a message that says USE AUX.

There is a Low Pass Filter associated with the main receiver (and 
transmit signal).  If that low pass filter is also placed between the 
sub-rx and the antenna, higher frequencies will be severely attenuated - 
thus the message USE AUX.  The Auxiliary antenna input to the sub does 
not have a low pass filter in the path.
