James, Do you have an "RF in the shack" problem there? Just a guess, but one possible explanation. It sounds to me like the mic input of the K3 is tolerating low level RF, but as the amount of RF increases, the RF feedback overloads the mic input.
Have you changed anything in your antenna field or in the shack that could relate to the antenna feeds?
