Bryan . . . Look at the Anderson Powerpole jack on your K3. One of the lugs on mine was not extended far enough outward to allow it to seat properly because the lead going to it was too short. Rather than remove the previously soldered wire and attach a longer one, the installer merely jammed the lug in as far it would go and let it go at that. It made power-contact, but not mechanical-contact, which ultimately meant it didn't take much for the power cord to slip off the jack. It took most of an afternoon to disassemble, repair, and reassemble.
Since it was Serial Number 21, I chalked it up to early-production problems. Even highly conscious quality-control companies can have quality-control issues at times.
