In my last post I wondered if the concept is wrong (from my viewpoint). To me the purpose of Noise Reduction ... is to Reduce Noise, no matter if there is a strong signal present, a weak signal present, or no signal present. Therefore, SNR has nothing to do with it.
In fact, good NR really shines when it eliminates most of the snap, crackle, pop! when one tunes across a mostly empty, noisy 160 or 80 meter band. I'll shut up now guys, thanks for reading my posts.
