Hm. Elecraft doesn't have to supply all your needs.

Someone wanted the W2 to follow a band selection. It's likely the
switch could be replaced with a relay connected to DIGOUT1 and that
used to select two sensors. If you want more possibilities, you could
probably build an external switching array driven by the BAND0-3
outputs.

10W on 2M is enough for many uses, and can drive an amp for more.
Since I have a 2M amp (TE1452G) rated for 25W input, I'll have to see
what works for me (a W2 sensor for high power VHF would be useful for
that, but...).

A K3-sized box for home-brew would be good, but there's no reason that
it must come from Elecraft. I suspect that Byers Chassis would do an
10 7/8" width if you want it. Or someone could do drawings and find a
metal shop to do a blank box pretty easily- the basic design is the
same as the K2, and I fabricated a similar box pretty easily (it does
use thicker material, which would make this more difficult for me).
Hm, It's clear I could get stock bits from Byers that could be made into a
K3-sized box pretty easily.

There are a number of amps that can work nicely with the K3 (and are
often much cheaper than the projected K800/K1500 price).

Yes, some of us get our radios as appliances, but if you want
something out of the ordinary, then building or modifying isn't that
difficult.
