Good Evening,
Today's nets were filled with lightning strikes from storms across the
continent. Tom mentioned he was awaiting a storm when he made contact before
2300z. Sure enough when I called him a few minutes later he had gone. Later I
received an email from him stating he had had a lot of lightning and then heavy
rain and wind. Besides the noise level being rather high the signals were
weaker making copy more difficult. On top of all that there was some QSB so
conditions were not great.
Weather reports, outside of the storms, had pleasant temperatures for much
of the country except in Colorado where it was cool. Here it was in the mid
60s with sun. Walking out from under the canopy of trees into a clearing felt
nice. The lack of wind made the sun feel even warmer. The hummingbirds are
getting more active so they were chasing each other around trying to defend the
feeder from each other. I need to find the other two so I can drive them crazy
trying to defend both sides of the house ;)

The ferns are almost five feet tall now but just starting to unroll. Today,
as I was walking, I was trying to figure out how I am going to get to all of
the downed trees I need to harvest before the ants get them. I will have more
firewood than I need for the next five years or so if only I can get to it.
Some of the trees are quite large so they may yield a cord each. By fall I
will be in fairly good condition from all the work.
Until next week (when the propagation will be better :) stay well,
      73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
