---------------------------------- Good eyes! That's a real easy one to forget since it's nearly hidden under the lip on the rear panel. You're not the first to have strange problems caused by a poor ground at the KAT3 because that screw is missing. Because of the work I do I've had my K3 apart - literally from a fully-assembled rig to a kit of parts again and everything in between - more times that I can possibly count. I have some small containers in which I put the hardware when disassembling. If I'm disassembling parts that include critical but close screw sizes - such as the front panel bezels - I use more than one container. I always start with *empty* containers. When the radio is back together, I check to be sure the containers are empty. If not, I go hunting for where I left out a screw or a washer.
