Oops. I made a mis-statement in my previous message about the stability mods.
I wrote " Considerable work was done to improve the oscillator stability of both the main tuning synthesizer reference oscillator and the BFO." It's not the main tuning reference oscillator, but the VXO circuit that gets the bulk of the benefit, although the end result is to stabilize the overall VFO system.
