My elaborate Field Day plans fell through and I took my K2 to a local park. With a wire thrown in a tree, the same wire I use with my KX1 and cut to about 26 feet, I worked AL and AB among others with 8 watts and had a blast! My question is this: the kat2 did not seem to tune the wire to as low an swr as the KX1 gets, even in ALT mode. Is there a different length wire preferred for the K2, or another trick? SWR was never below 2, whereas KX1 gets close to 1.4. Two 16 ft radials used. Bands were 20 and 40m Thanks!
