In the Elecraft spirit of building things, consider the Micro M+ PV controller in the ARRL Handbook (at least the 2007 edition). The blank PC board, as well as full kits are available. The 2007 Handbook lists www.selogic.com as the source for the boards and kits. I built one from the PC board and use it with a small solar cell array to charge 7.4aH gel cells. It can also be used as a charger from an power supply source. So far, it seems to work fine.
