I have used twin K3's for over a year with good results. FW 3.27 using K1EL winkey and all rig control via usb. ----- Whilst running a contest this weekend recvd a report of bad keying. Sounded fine to me (sidetone). But I put the other rig on the second harmonic and was shocked to hear REALLY chopped CW. My first thought was a high resistance connection between winkey and the CW jack on the K3.
A half hour later it was isolated to my having set the TX DLY to 15 (or higher). Returning it to NOR/8 resolved the problem. Keying via paddle in the K3 worked ok. It only happened using keying from my logging program (n1mm)- twiddling the winkey parms in N1MM was a waste of time. Might be worth a heads up as you -will not- hear the chopped CW in sidetone or sending with a paddle. Bottom line is keep the TX DLY at Normal 008 unless you have a real need. 73, Howie N4AF -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-CW-TX-DLY-Warning-tp3547008p3547008.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
