Good Evening,
Wynton Marsalis is playing in the background as the sun moves behind the fir
trees. The temperature is quite pleasant with a light breeze. It is soothing.
I am glad, soothing is good after getting booted off the air. I am unsure how
to proceed at this point. The operator who kicked me off the air seemed
adamant about me not announcing the net. I thought about moving frequency but
he could do the same just as easily and continue his harangue. Oh well, maybe
he won't be on next week and life will go back to normal.
On my walk after the aborted 40 meter net I found the new tower poking well
above the trees. It is going to be much taller than the other two towers
currently in use on top of this mountain. However, if I want to get a cellular
phone I would have great coverage :) It is only 500 yards away as the crow
flies or 1 mile if I drive. They have been working very long days but the
mountain has been covered with clouds the last few days so I could not see
their progress. Looks like they will be hanging the antennas soon.
Propagation on 20 meters was very good into Michigan and Indiana but not so
good into other locales. I don't know about 40 meters because the QRM did not
sign nor was I able to hear anyone else during the few moments I was allowed to
use the frequency.

   The list =>

   On 14050 kHz at 2300z:
NO8V - John - MI - K3 - 820
N0SS - Tom - MO - K3 - 008
K1THP - Dave - CT - K3 - 686 QNI #95!!!!
N0TA - John - CO - K3 - 994
KC7OTG - Brett - OR - K3 - 1116
K6PJV - Dale - CA - K3 - 1183
W7AQK - Dave - AZ - K3 - 96
NK6A - Don - CA - K2 - 1217 QNI #60!!!
AD6GI - Chuck - CA - K3 - 355
AB9V - Mike - IN - K3 - 398
KL7CW - Rick - AK - KX1 - 798

There was no 40 meter net because I was informed on the air to stop
announcing it. I went QRT shortly afterward. Since I did not want to get into
an argument I thought it better to simply shutdown and go for a walk.
Hopefully, next week my nemesis will be elsewhere and I can continue as I have
been doing since 2002. One of the legs of the amateur radio service is
goodwill. Maybe he will remember that or at least leave us alone.
    Until next week stay well,
        73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
