Good Evening,
Toward the end of the second net Mike mentioned QRN. At that point I
realized I had been ignoring it the entire time. Yes, there was QRN, but,
since it was 40 meters it seemed normal :) Twenty meters was OK but spotty in
coverage. It seemed rather long too. Weather reports were of quite pleasant
temperatures with clear skies. Only Rick mentioned cooler conditions with
cloudy skies. I am due for warmer temperatures for the entire week. In fact
there is a fire advisory on the National Weather Service website for Oregon.
Those pesky Californians are sending a hot, dry wind northward with low
humidity. Luckily the forests are not so tinder dry as they were a month ago.
Hopefully we will not have any lightning.

Please report any errors in these lists to me so I may correct them. The
warm weather this week will allow me to complete a long term project: my roof.
It has been an arduous process but the end is so very close. One day to finish
covering it and then another to cut in the ridge vent and I will be done. It
will be nice to get that off the to do list! I will need something else for
exercise :) Maybe cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking wood will be
enough. One never can tell. I could try riding my bike from town to the
house. Eight miles with an 1800 foot elevation gain should get my heart
pumping traveling in either direction :) I better get to bed early so I can be
well rested for my last couple days of roofing.
Until next week stay well,
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
