It's an extremely rare side-effect of a transient event, such as a band change or NR on/off, in the presence of specific incoming signal conditions. Effective NR algorithms are particularly susceptible to numeric overrange, and there have been many attempts in the industry, some patented, to prevent it. We changed the DSP initialization sequence during band change (etc.), and also put self-checks in place to limit gain during transients. If they occur, they're now corrected internally, completely transparent to the operator. So far it appears to be working very well. But we sent the code to about 150 early adopters to make sure. 73, Wayne N6KR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
