Earl,

There is a Mark/Shift and Pitch Selection - See the manual page 31.
Set to your data mode (I assume AFSK or FSK-D), then hold the PITCH 
button - rotate the VFO A knob to tell the K3 what mark frequency and 
shift that you are using.  If you are using a computer application, the 
mark frequency and the shift must match in both the K3 and the application.
