I have just received this news through another reflector. Randy K4QO
was one of the early K2 users - in fact a K2 Field Tester if I recall
correctly. Although he has not been active on the Elecraft reflector
recently, I am certain he will be remembered and missed by many. My
condolences to his family.

4 Die in Small Plane Crash Near Charleston SC

JEDBURG, S.C. -- Authorities say four men killed when a small plane
crashed and burst into flames near the South Carolina coast were friends
heading to an amateur radio convention in the Bahamas.

Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nesbit identified three of the victims
of Wednesday's crash as the pilot and plane's owner, Peter Radding of
North Charleston, and passengers Edwin Steeble and James Randolph
Hargenrader, both of Summerville.

Nesbit says the fourth victim was from Delaware, but didn't release
other information because his family had not been contacted.

Authorities say the twin-engine Piper PA-23 crashed shortly after
departure around 6:45 a.m. near the Summerville airport in a rural area
near Jedburg, 30 miles northwest of Charleston. The men were planning a
stop in Florida
