Planning on adding SSB to my K2 ... Your thoughts will be appreciated. 73

Regardless of which microphone you settle on, do yourself a favor and check
out the K2 Internal Mic Adaptor (IMA) featured at http://www.unpcbs.com/
The IMA supports all of the microphone pin-outs and bias resistance values
described in the KSB2 manual, and then some.

However beyond that, the biggest advantage of the IMA is that the pin-out
and/or bias resistance can be changed simply by removing the K2's left-side
panel. And the only tool that's required to reconfigure the IMA is a pair
of needle nose pliers (to reposition jumpers).

At last count the list of supported microphones was 55, but that number
doesn't include most Heil mics and headsets, which are typically purchased
with a cable for either the Icom, Kenwood, or Yaesu pin-out.
