Speaking of Sub "ON", When I try to work a DXpedition or station working split (like UP 2Khz) I like to listen to the DX Station on Main Receiver VFO A and the pileup freq's on Sub Receiver VFO B. On the main receive I like my CW bandwidth narrow (starting at 500Hz). However, on the sub receiver I like the bandwidth wide so I can more easily hear which station is currently working the DX. I normally set Sub Receiver BW to 1.2 KHz. With this in mind, I modified the Split+2 Macro as follows: SWT13;SWT13;FT1;UPB5;RT0;XT0;SB1;BW0050;BW$0120;
Description: CW DX split starting point: A>B twice, enter split, move VFO B up 2 KHz, RIT/XIT off, Sub Receiver ON, Set Main Receiver BW to 500Hz, Set Sub Receiver BW to 1.2 KHz. These macro functions improve the K3 "ease of use" factor significantly. What a fantastic addition to the K3. Depending on the interest of the particular operator, you can custom design many pertinent rig setting into a single key press. It keeps getting better and better ;-) Frank - W6NEK ----- Original Message ----- From: "W0FK" <[email protected]> > > Thanks for the sub on addition, Richard. > > Lou, W0FK > > > Thanks Wayne for letting me try the new utility and FW 4.47.
