Mic I purchased a Yaesu MD100A8X desk mic to use with my K3. I chose it for 1) price, 2) I was used to a desk mic, 3) Up/Dn control and the opportunity to access the Function feature available through the K3 mic jack via far position of Up/Dn control on the desk stand.
I receive good unsolicited audio reports. During early mic discussions here, I recall someone posting 'Don't get a desk mic.' My MD100 is now in a boom over the station and I operate VOX...and a very nice VOX on the K3 at that. S-Meter Grant - your methodology makes great sense to me, however I'm no EE.
