Had a brief scare last night with one of my K3s.
Wednesday night I uploaded the latest firmware (3.57) to both of my K3s. They both seemed to be OK, but as I was getting setup for the upcoming ARRL SS SSB I noticed a bit of a problem. One of my K3s worked fine on CW, but when SSB was selected I lost all RX audio. Additionally, the VOX appeared to not disengage correctly. After some investigation, I was able to get the RX audio to came back if I increased the width to over 3.2kcs. I have the 2.7, 400 and 250 filters installed. I then deselected the 400 and 250 filters without any change. I reloaded firmware 3.44 with no help. I reloaded my last SAVE CONFIG with no help. Getting close to panic now. Then I got out the manual to see how to do a reset. The reset fixed the problem. I then loaded my last configuration save. All still OK. Then uploaded the latest firmware (3.57) and all still fine. Not sure why - but somehow the K3 lost it's SSB mind. This past weekend I used both K3s in the ARRL-SS-CW and had no issues at all. With the exception of a couple 40cw Qs I have not been on the air. Has anyone seen this type of issue before. CW appeared fine. SSB would transmit fine in PTT, the VOX would not disengage and there was ZERO RX audio.
