When I've carelessly assembled one of those, I didn't have enough of the braid wrapped over the beveled ferrule at the end. The first time I happened to have a twist in the coax, the torque broke off the braid strands and the coax spun freely :-(
If that happens it may still show shield continuity, but only because the broken ends are touching the inside of the shell. That's a weak connection that will cause no end of troubles. One benefit of years of experience is that we learn countless ways to get something wrong... Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- Hi Don, The nut is cinched down extremely tight, but I doubt I was very careful with the cut dimensions. I'll check that next. 73 Brian - N5BCN ----- K2 #6800 KSB2 KAT2 KIO2 KNB2 -- ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
