Folks,
There was an auction for a loaded late model K3 (almost all accessories) listed on eBay yesterday for $1700, however, the listing said he "could not read eBay email so email me directly" to complete the transaction. I contacted eBay support to question this since it seemed very odd. They immediately pulled the ad since it violated eBay's rules of giving a direct email address in place of using eBay's email system. eBay did NOT tell me if the offer was real or not (they don't care), they just told me it was a violation of policy and removed the ad. It may be just fine and the seller just doesn't understand the rules, but it sure seems fishy and I thought I would mention it to this group because the price caught my attention and I'll bet others would be tempted as well. I sent an email to the seller to inquire about the serial number (you could almost make out a 2600 type number in the picture) before I got too suspicious but the seller never gave me the serial number. Too many red flags to chase this one. Buyer beware! ;-) Bob K5WA ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
