If you plan to operate for an extended period in corrosive marine atmospheric conditions and/or very high humidity, you might consider installing stainless steel external hardware on your K3.
In practice such hardware -- which is quite expensive -- is rarely required. But we've had a number of requests for an "extreme environments" mod kit for this purpose. (Many K3s are going to exotic DXpedition locations.) Our model #K3SSKT includes all the hardware you need: stainless steel exterior screws, nuts, etc. Items have black or bright finish as required to match the original K3 hardware.
