Steve, In addition to being bad for your radio, the dry air that's allowing the static charges to build up on your skin aren't good for the rest of your body (sinuses, skin, etc.). We use a "whole house" humidifier that sits on the floor near the wood stove ("Vermont crude" is a lot cheaper than the slick stuff, even though it's more work...). No problems with static, snoring, etc.
