I have built two K3's (the last one in March 09) and the calibration worked fine then.
As you say, there are work arounds but it would sure be nice if the K3 worked as the manual shows. Bob W6VY This bug in the wattmeter calibration still exists in the latest firmware. Pressing XMIT during the wattmeter calibration does not transmit, and pressing TUNE does not permit a change of the calibration paramter. On the other hand keying the rig via a keyer does allow the calibration to be performed.
