During the CQWWCW contest the MicroHam keyer died. After activating the "Terminal" function on the laptop, we connected the radio thru the serial port and configured N1MM to key via de com port selected. It worked fine during the second half of the contest. After the contest, I tried the band map and frequency control with N1MM and it worked. Unfortunately, we did not have another USB adapter to run both functions at the same time. Maybe using the device router supplied by MicroHam or a similar program will provide the necessary virtual com ports.

We're interested in this, Gary -- thanks for the suggestion. Meanwhile, you can always use the "Terminal" function of K3 Utility to send/receive in CW, RTTY, and PSK31 modes using your PC keyboard. 73, Wayne N6KR On Dec 8, 2009, at 12:59 PM, Gary NL7Y wrote: > > Wayne please also consider a means for integrating a keyboard for CW > into > your keypad (like this ? - > http://www.hamgadgets.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=106) as > some of > us are fighting a loosing battle with arthritis - using my > Vibrokeyer or > Bencher is getting tougher every day. > > 73, Gary NL7Y > > > wayne burdick wrote: >> >> Better yet: An Elecraft accessory keypad that plugs into the front- >> panel jack under the VFO B and RIT controls.
