That same cable works with any software that sends frequency commands on the serial line (N1MM, HRD, Writelog, Commander, etc.) The SteppIR controller simply monitors that line and looks for radio-specific frequency-set commands. N8LP has developed a serial port bridge that allows multiple software applications to use the same port.
