An Elecraft K3 is just as easy to remotely operate, however beware the menu can be accessed by remote... In order to hear the radio you can use Skype for simplicity (lots of folk use Skype and are familiar with it), you would need to set an oddly named user account rather than your normal Skype name and set it to auto answer and only to names in it's address book. IP Sound also works well (http://ip-sound.software.informer.com/) but is not well supported. Both are free.
