Thought I'd share this with the hardy crew. Last week I was on the Calif AMI net, 3870.
Enjoyable and relaxing banter. Then the wolves showed up -- purposeful QRM right on top of the net. Full on carriers, keyed "V" signals, varying carrier frequency, SSB signals, re-broadcast music, you name it. They would stop every so often, listening I suppose, trying to get a rise out of folks. Well sir, I just pushed the K3's SAM button, rotated the filter shift, and -viola- QRM dead-gone. Set my operating frequency to 3870 split. RX tracks, TX sticks. Ahhh I have N8LP panadapter and so could see that the interference was within 100Hz and almost same signal level as the AM carrier, sometimes even higher. I made it a point, when my turn came up, to state the pleasure I had in completely eliminating the sorry attempt at interference. The "fine citizen" gave up a bit later. Another victory for K3. -- thanks and 73's Tom Kenville -- W6TJK ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
