I do it differently. I tune in the DX with VFO A as normal. Then I usually lock the frequency so as to not lose him by mistake. (It happens---often)
If the DX says listening up 5, I press "XIT" and dial it up 5 as viewed in the VFO B display. If I want to listen to my transmit frequency I press, "RIT". If this frequency isn't clear or I want to chase the last caller, I can use the offset knob to tune both offests and then tap "RIT" again to listen to the DX again while I transmit on my new frequency. For me, pressing "REV" and tuning VFO B is a two-handed operation. As long as you press it you will hear on your TX frequency; release it and you are back on the DX frequency. 73, Bill -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Listen-the-split-tp4269092p4269149.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
