Hi

Has anyone done daisy chaining of the Elecraft transverters without using an
Elecraft radio?

I acknowledge that the AuxBus is used and intelligent communication is
needed from an additional microcontroller.

Initially I thought, without taking a closer look at the diagram, that it
was possible to select the relevant transverter via the bus by supplying a
simple voltage corresponding to the DIP setting in the transverter. But from
what I can under stand from Elecraft intelligent communication is necessary.
Also taking an even closer look I can see that the AuxBus goes to a digital
port in the XV-microcontroller.

If no super mod invented already I see the following alternatives:
1) write own firmware for the XVs, and review two port pins
2) make an intelligent controller
3) make an IF switching and supply voltage control box
4) abandon the Elecraft transverters

I have three transverters and was looking forward to the daisy chaining
principle - actually this is why I embarked on the Elecraft way and already
prepared the non-Elecraft transverter for daisy chaining.

1) Can be done and with additional features missing today.

2) The intelligent controller may even be a business opportunity as a stand
alone box. Furthermore I have a station controller already in which I have
to rewrite the firmware so adding AuxBus communication should be a
manageable task provided I can emulate the AuxBus protocol.

What to do?
