I used one that a friend brought along for us on ZS1RBN several years ago 
and it still required a matching unit.  I couldn't say how it performed 
compared to the 5RV, but the figures look good on paper.  As with most wire 
antennas on dxpeditions, you rarely get the things at optimal height; come 
to think of it, neither can I on my home station, hi !
