Great idea Kenn.  Why didn't I think of that?  It is kind of hard to put the 
fan back in and those nuts that hold the fan are fragile.  I damaged one by 
popping off the screw cover.  Great Point!  You never know when you are going 
to learn something on this forum!

Subject: [Elecraft] KPA3 access / removal

I haven't had trouble with my KPA3's pins, but did remove
it for inspection.  It's easier to remove the four screws that
attach the fan panel to the rear of the radio, then unplug
the two fan power connectors and the two leads to the
circuit breaker, allowing complete removal of the fan panel.
Provides much easier access.
