You were not dreaming! The K2 will treat a simultaneous contact closure of both the dot and the dash lines as a straight key. The two diodes are there to eliminate the short circuit that would otherwise exist between the two sides of the paddle, which would cause a contact closure on either side of the paddle to ground both sides (and therefore be treated as a straight key as well). The circuit is on page 95 of the K2 manual. There is also a menu item that you will need to ensure is turned on. 73, Brian VE7NGR ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
