Many applications on Mac OS X keep support files in [/Library/Application 
Support] and [~/Library/Application Support]. 

Check [~/Library/Applications Support/Elecraft/] for the Elecraft K3 Utility 
support files.

Static resources (GUI, Icons, AppleScript definitions, etc) are stored in the 
Resources folder of the Application Bundle.  Dynamic resources (the ones that 
the users can change over time), such as K3 hex files are often stored in 
[Application Support].

There are other standard folders that installers can store bundles in (e.g., 
Core Audio and Internet plug-ins).  You can read Apple's guidelines for
