I have K3 S/N 740 and reasonably current firmware (late 2009). As it happens, I used the K3 for the first time on 80m last night during the CWT mini-event. During the appx. 20 minutes I was on 80m, I heard several VERY LOUD pops. They weren't sustained but were dangerously loud. The first few occurred with headphones on. I resorted to speaker operation after that. This has never happened on 40 or 30m where I have principally been operating with the K3.
Is this a known problem? Am I missing a firmware update?
